Pedalboard Power Supply Recommendation?

I've been using a Furman board with power, but I might have to set up a different board and it would need its own power supply. Everything will be 9-volt, no weird stuff.

So what are you using for power...MXR, BBE, Voodoo Labs, 1-Spot with a chain....????

I use Voodoo Labs (PPII+ and a Digital) on my big board and a Cioks adam on my small board. They're both excellent.

Similarly, I have a big board and small board. My big board has a Voodoo Lab Mondo, my small board is a T-Rex Chameleon. The cool thing about the chameleon is that it'll do 9V, High Current 9V, 12V, 18V and 9VAC. I like to swap pedals on and off of it, so it'll handle most anything I throw at it.

I'd completely trust anything by Voodoo Lab, T-Rex or Cioks.

If you're not constrained by a budget, I enthusiastically recommend the Voodoo Lab Pedal Power 2 Plus; I use one on my board since I have a few MIJ boss pedals that need a 12V ACA power supply. If you're 9V only with no high current pedals and looking on a budget, a Visual Sound One Spot works great. I got one used a few years ago for $10, and it's my grab-and-go 9V power supply.

Voodoo Lab works perfect for my needs. I've got the 4×4 as I'm running digital stuff as well. They also have a model that lets you set the voltage yourself for those starved battery sounds.

I use a Godlyke Power-All power supple chain. Works great and has the plug adapters you would need for pretty much any pedal out there. It's affordable and effective.

I got this one
Cp-05 Guitar Pedal Power Supply

10 output total
one 18 volt
one 12 volt
one 9 volt - 500ma
the other seven 9 volt - 100ma

led lights for each ( switchable to turn the lights off )
mounting brackets
cables for most pedals
two polarity reversing cables

sadly no cable for the old MXR 1/8 inch phone plug
(had to spend another $5)

I like Dunlop DC-brick. it's small and not expensive.
1spot i also used, people say that it is impulse and it's not good,
really heard no difference... used it for a year or more....

People say, people say. I have been using my onespot for years and never had a problem with it. In most cases I ignore what "people" say and use what works.
 
Pedalboard Power Supply Recommendation?

Since I have just 3 pedals on my board, the 1-Spot is perfect for me. It'll power a lot more pedals than that easily.

I've used a 1-Spot, and the DC Brick (the Dunlop one, not the MXR). I would like to try the Iso-Brick, but I don't have any pedals.

I bought a one amp 9 volt DC power adapter off Amazon for $5
then for another $5 I got a daisy chain cable from GFS
had to reverse the leads on the power adapter to make it center negative

used that for a couple of years

then when I bought the PedalTrain board, I got the brick above to power it

I'm currently using the Rocktron Power Tap, which can do 9v, high 9v, 12v, 18v (with the adaptor cable), and 9VAC. It's also got three AC outlets on the unit as well, which is a nice bonus.

An isolated OneSpot seems to be in the works, saw an advert of it some days back. A small one & a big full featured one.

Aside from that the BBE supacharger is supposedly good, digitech has a hardwire iso power supply out too, i thought i saw a isolated mxr brick advert awhile ago too(not the cae one)

FWIW, my 1spot has a ton of noise. When I use that to power my mini board (just a phaser, fuzz, od, and delay) there's an unreasonable amount of noise both when the effects are off and when they're on. There's even a clicking noise that's in time with the delay repeats.

However, based on how happy others are with their 1Spot, I think I just got a bad unit.

The 1 Spot isn't isolated, so it's probably caused by a certain combination of your pedals. The clicking is probably caused by your delay pedal, while the other noise is hard to say for sure. If you care to find out, try hooking your pedals up in pairs until you discover the source of the noise. I typically use my 1 Spot for only one pedal at a time, so I tend to have fewer issues with it.

That's how you know it's time to go from daisy-chain to isolated power supply. ;) It's usually the digital pedals that cause it.

I ended up with a Cioks Adam because it fits under a pedaltrain nano. Couldn't be happier.
