I'm looking at replacing my heavy Warwick powered pedalboard with something lighter and more convenient. This is my current setup:



I'm looking for something to accommodate these pedals, and perhaps give me a little flexibility should I need to add something... ;)

I'm pretty interested in this as a power supply as it looks small, convenient and cool! Any experience with them?

I don't think a Volto will power that board...

I'd check out the pedaltrain layout site (www.pedalboardplanner.com) to determine what size is appropriate, then look at Voodoo Labs and Cioks to see which one will give you all the outputs you need. (The Duncan's may require a little higher current and I think the MXR Flanger is an 18VDC pedal, right?)

I don't have pics but I went with a Pedaltrain Pro and Voodoo Lab 4x4. I can fit a vast array of different pedal configurations on it and power them all. The only issue are AC pedals, but if I end up with a few permanent AC pedals I can always add a Voodoo Lab Pedal Power AC.

(I'm such a nerd figuring out pedalboard layouts and power supply requirements... I should start a business doing it for guitarists. :laugh2: )

My pedal board searches start and end with Pedaltrain. They're super solid and a good bit lighter than most anything else.

While the Volto might not power your rig, many Pedaltrain boards are designed to accommodate a Voodoo Lab Pedal Power.

You could make a small fortune doing that...assuming you started with a large fortune. Lots of cheap bastid guitarists out there.

Hahaha That's true! It seems like guitarists are either all DIY (everyone here) or all tech outsourced (my brother in law takes his guitar in to have the strings changed :smack:)

I'd have to run the MXR Flanger and the Blackstar HT Dual off their own power supplies, so I'd be looking to power the tuner, Muff, wah, compressor and delay from the Volto. Pedaltrain does seem favourite but I think the Pro would be too big for what I need. I think that maybe the 2 or 3 would suffice.

The 3 and the pro are the same height, the 2 is shorter (and looks like it would fit your pedals perfectly).

I just looked up the power requirements for the compressor and delay, and it looks like a Volto would work. (~65ma for delay 5ma for compressor)

I have a gator which is heavy

if I do it over again I like that pedalboard pt-mini , small so it fits in a backpack

I plan to get the nano one day with a sanyo battery to power without plugging in to wall socket

NYC Pedalboard + Voodoo Lab Pedal Power II+ and you're done...

It's not the cheapest option but it'll be the last pedalboard you ever have to have.

I just checked them out, cool idea but I'm not sure I'd want to rely on a battery powered unit.

Oh, that seems like a winner then! I think it would be really cool to get a few Mooer pedals or Xotic pedals and use that to power them...... :scratchch

You simply plug it in to charge in the same was as any other USB powered device, so you could charge or power it from the supplied adapter, or your computer or even an in-car charger!! Charge it up on the drive to the gig and off you go! :)

Bought a smallish SKB Powered Pedal Board with case at the GC Black Friday sale for $99 the other day. Got tired of the one I made like 12 years ago, wanted something more compact and easy to carry - and was reliable! Hooked it up Saturday afternoon, gigged a major gig opening for a national at the best venue in town that night and had zero issues, I was a little nervous about the pedal positions, different than before, but that ended up being no issue at all. A few pix here, out of the bag, the bag, and sitting in the bag. This board is meant to be removed from the bag.

Here it is at Sweetwater on sale for Cyber Monday. Only thing you will need are patch cables and I already had like 30 of those in my gig box!
