Pedalboard Wiring Question

So I am building a pedalboard, but would like all of the cables going to it to come off of the left side. I can either plug my guitar into the right side and tuck the cable along the back, but would really like some kind of 'box' that the in and out could be plugged into, and then I could run cables from these jacks on my pedlaboard to the guitar and amp. I've seen the 'True Bypass Strip' from pedalboards.com, but that isn't really what I need.

Just some kinda box that I can plug the in and out of my pedalboard into, and then I can plug my guitar and amp into the other side, so I don't have cables draping over the pedals. Does it exist?

Re: Pedalboard Wiring Question

You could put your first and last pedals on the left side, and route the wiring around the board however you want.

Or a dual switch box, so you can use it for your in and out. Then, you can use one switch to activate all your pedals or remove them from the loop. Use the other switch to mute direct to tuner. Or you could buy an aluminum box, and some jacks, then make a fully passive jack box. 2 jacks for in/out, and 2 jacks to attach to the first and last pedal. An easy project to make for $30.

Re: Pedalboard Wiring Question

Not sure if I understand ya, but I have my pedalboard setup so it's real easy to plug and play. I made a 2nd level to raise the top row and hide all the 9volt daisy chains (all my pedals run on 9 volt power supply) and have the amp wire (black) on the left and guitar wire (red) on the right. I only got this board months ago...I don't know why I did'nt do this years ago...it's so much easier.

Boss made the PSM-5 for ages and you can probably pick one up for pretty cheap. It sounds like you might want one of these (or something similar).

I had an old PSM5 and it absolutelly KILLED the top end of my tone.

Just a heads up ;)

Re: Pedalboard Wiring Question

I've heard of that happening, but never had a problem with it. Maybe there were different models of the PSM-5 put out?

I thought about having the first and last pedals on the same side- I might try this first. I am interested in the passive box idea too. I could wire it up, but how do I protect against noise or loss of any kind with such a box?

Mine was an old MIJ 1, but whether there was different models or not, I'm not sure.

Re: Pedalboard Wiring Question

wow, thats it! and i don't have to build it. i like that it works without power too- the power is just for the LED.

Re: Pedalboard Wiring Question

A Fair price as well. I first heard about it over at the gear page. A bunch of the guys over there have it on their boards
