Perfect match of guitar and pickups

I was on a roll today doing pickup swapping, finished doing tripleshots and DMZ pups on my Epi Dot and I looked on the wall and thought what the heck! 76 Ibanez deluxe 59er I bought back in 1980 for 100.00, I've had numerous bridge pups from invader,SD, old 59, JB and never liked the super 70 neck. I recently put in a 59/custom hybrid but not crazy about it. I had a pearly gates plus and reverse polarity 59 sitting around that I was going to use in a HH strat but went HSS in it. Soldering iron was still hot so I thought what the heck? removed the 59/custom and super 70 and installed the pearly gates plus and 59 reverse polarity used some acetone to remove the logo's along with some new tuners I had for years. Perfect pickups for this guitar, I figured I'd add some push/pull pots later as i didn't have them, I had no Idea that in the middle pos the two humbuckers would sound like they do.........fricking amazing like a tele. This set of pups made this guitar like the perfect combo of a strat and Les Paul with a tele in the middle. Body is African Mahogany with a sen ash top.102_0619.jpg

That guitar looks great, nice that you found the perfect combo. I found the perfect combo for my semi hollow body Ibanez. Pearly Gate bridge and an Alnico II Slash Pro neck. uploadfromtaptalk1457242927677.jpg

Awesome, I am happy it worked for both of you! Can we hear them now?

Re: Perfect match of guitar and pickups

I did some editing so kinda hard to hear, I should do raw video through my amp soon. This is all I got so far. All my other stuff was deleted. My actual pickup review which was pretty awesome is gone, sadface.

Re: Perfect match of guitar and pickups

I'm pretty sure the pearly gates plus is just a hotter 59 bridge.

Is the middle position out of phase?
