PG/59 combo

Hi this is my first post...:banana:

even though ive been here without posting for awhile...:dance:

Well, anyway, i was wondering how a PG/59 combo would sound in a all mohogany guitar. Im going for a heavily distorted sound but classic rock and clean still possible, and hoping to be able to still do leads.
I was also considering just going EMG too. Any help would be greatly appreciated

The PGn/59b combo is great. I had something very similar in my LP (PGn/PG+) and it works for country, blues, funk, and if your amp has enough gain, it can easily do hard rock and metal.

I don't care for the 59 in the neck. It's too boomy for me. I would much rather do the full Pearly Gates set.

Pearly Gates/Custom Custom is a great combo as well.

I Like the PGB pickup alot,but prefer putting a A4 59 in the neck or the Jazz/59N A4 Hybrid...

Didn't care for the PGN pickup at all...Just hated the mids and the "sizzle"..

I use a 59b/PGn set and find it to be a perfect combo. Fat bridge tone with neck positions sounds that aren't muddy.

I find ind the 59n to be a little bass heavy in mahagony/set neck guitars. Pairing it with a PGb I think it would just amplify that. If you want the PG in the bridge I would pair it with another PG in the neck.

I agree. I had a PGb/59n combo in a Les Paul, and I couldn't ever eq my amp where it sounded good with both pickups. I just put in a PGn last night, and I like the PG/PG combo a lot better.
