Phase 1, 7 string blackout pickup height

Just wondering if someone could give me some specific measurements for phase 1 blackout heights to start with in my Ibanez rg 7 string for the bridge and neck pickup. I know it is subjective and varies upon different amp setups but I am just trying to get in the neighborhood for neck and bridge, treble and bass side. I also never know at what point of the pickup it is measured, front, middle or back of the pickup? Mine sit pretty much flat so probably doesn't matter much. This is my first time messing with a seven strings pickup height so that's another reason I am a little unsure. Thanks for any replies in advance.

Re: Phase 1, 7 string blackout pickup height

Ive never seen specific heights given by SD. Particularly since with 7 strings there is far less standardization than 6 strings. This is really something that needs to be done with an amp and a screw driver. Start with the pickups just low enough that the Low B doesnt hit it when you pick hard then adjust from there. Should only take a few minutes and your ear will tell you whats best for your rig...

Sorry I know its not the answer you were after but its the only real one. Any measurement given will just be an arbitrary starting point which really doesnt matter at best it would only save you a few turns of the screw driver "IF" it happened to be correct.

Cool thanks, should the treble side be about the same height from the string as the bass side?

Normally yeah though sometimes due to low tuning I wind up with the bass side sunk a bit farther down than the treble side
