Phasers: Shannon vs. EHX Small Stone

Re: Phasers: Shannon vs. EHX Small Stone

Not the recent model Small Stone, but I had one of the originals in the 70s. I bought one of the last Shannon Phasers earlier this year when it was announced that Eric was going to stop making them. I bought it to be an investment, figuring it would be a big collectors item someday. Truth is, it's too damn good not to use! It's on my backup board now, only because I just don't have room for it on my main board.

The Shannon is best described as a hi-fi phaser. The EH I had was good, but a bit rougher, more in the direction of an MXR. If you ever heard an old Ross phaser from the 70s, I think that's what the Shannon is closer to. The Shannon absolutely nails the Script sound of the old MXRs, but it has so much to offer too.
