Phat Cat neck in a Tele

I'm thinking of putting a Phat Cat neck in my tele. It will be matched up with an APTL-3JD. Anybody have this set-up in a tele? What do you think of it? Right now I have it set-up like a strat with neck/middle strat pups and the JD, but want something different in it. The tele is alder with a maple fretboard.

Phat Cat neck is a little hot (8k). Get an underwound one in the low 7's and it'll be perfect.

I had a phat cat in the neck of my tele for around a year, i just sold it, it sounded thick and clear pretty like a very thick single coil. It was great for solos since they sounded fat, but i prefer a more traditional neck tele sound especially in the middle position.
