Phat Cats !!!

Re: Phat Cats !!!

P-90's are easy to swap mags in, actually Phat Cats take a little extra work because the covers are soldered on (never seen any other like that) and when lifting the cover, you have to be careful not to lift it too high or one of the wires will break. They'd be easier with the normal method of screws to hold the coil to the baseplate.

Yes Phat Cats take a little work to do but it is worth it IMO

Absolutely. I don't care for Phat Cats with the stock A2's tonewise and the neck is quite a bit fuller and louder than the bridge. To me they sound much better with about any other magnet. Duncan could offer Phat Cats with other magnets, like A5 & A4, and while they're at it, update them with an extra ground wire and screws to hold the base plate to the coil. They should be more competitive with the other HB-sized P-90's on the market. The A2's don't have that classic A5 Gibson P-90 sound that some players expect.
