Pick slides and slides with your hands

I was wondering how you guys do your pick slides for that cool metal sound. I've seen some players do it with their fretting hand, but I have no clue how they do it. When I do it doesn't seem to make that loud scratching sound with my fretting hand.

ive always just drug the thin side of my pick over the wound stings. Place a little pressure so it made a little more sound going across.

I already know that, but how do you do the sliding sound with your fretting hand.
