Hey everyone,

Will pickgaurds originally made for American guitars fit on a MIM? My Mexican Strat has an 11 hole HH, but I want to order this one:

Description says that it's for American standard, deluxe etc but I would think since it's the same number of holes and same pickup config there shouldn't be a difference? I've also read that sometimes pickgaurds are all slightly different.

Thanks!

It may have have the same number of holes, but they also may not line up in the same places, forcing you to make new holes that are slightly off of the old ones.

I pulled the trigger on the pick guard so worst case if it doesn't fit I just have the holes filled and re-drilled.

Is there a difference in the bridge or pickup spacing?

After replacing dozens of pickguards over the years my conclusion is that nothing fits anything. You can buy a pickguard off the same make, model, and year as your guitar and often they won't line up. I have a small pile of failed attempts still sitting on my shelf in my workroom, still holding onto the hope that they will fit something someday. .

I was about to say the same thing. I typically need to take the Dremel, sandpaper, or a file to the new guard to get things to fit correctly. Especially around the bridge.
