Pickup choices... again.

I am looking for pickups to put in a PRS CE 22. I like Dimarzios, they are great pickups, but don't seem to have the clean tone that Duncans have. Do the Evos have good clean tone? They seem to be very liked by everyone that has them, but I need good clean tone. I was thinking about throwing a JB/Evolution neck combo in there. Or to stay ceramic, maybe a Gibson 500T in there. Actually, a 500T/'59 combo may sound nice, no? Or a 500T/DD? How would that sound? I could also go with just about anything else that is relatively heavy with good clean tone. Anybody have any experience with any of these combos?

What kind of music do you play? For good crunchy distortion with a good clean tone, JB can't be beat. Never tried it but I also hear a Distortion gets good cleans too. I don't know, I just seem to love that darn JB more every day, I want to try other pups (and have), but I still keep going back to it! For the neck, tons of options, 59/Jazz seem to be very popular with the JB. I just got a Jazz neck for my Epi myself.

the cleans from a dd set arent going to be the sweetest youve heard but they are passable from the neck pup. it might make more sense to use a lower output neck pup like a 59 or jazz with a dd bridge like randy rhodes or even a full shred neck

Re: Pickup choices... again.

I was considering the DD but am looking for something more mellow. I am thinking a JB/'59 neck combo may do the trick (alnico V magnet). What I really want is a neck pickup that can get good creamy, smooth Les Paul-esque leads. Perhaps a Seth Lover? That may be too low-output for me, though. So maybe a Breed Neck? That sounds good.
