Pickup Cover Question

I've got a Les Paul with black ,plastic bobbin covered pups. I'm wanting to put Gibson chrome pup covers on them. How do you put them on the pups? Do they snap on, glue on, screw on or what? I want to get that more classic look on it if you know what I mean.

you take the pickup out of the rings, then just slide the cover over em.

They recommend soldering the bottom of the cover to the base plate off the pup, but i like using scotch tape incase i need to remove it later.
