Pickup for my les paul 58

Hi guys, I'm news of the forum and have a question.

I have a gibson les paul r8 (very light 3.7kg but not chambered) with custombucker but I dont love them to much... I want A2 pickups and love slash tone so I see aph1 or aph2. Taking off the output difference, what is the best? They must be very dinamic( I use dirty sound and clean it rolling off guitar volume), articulate, not muddy and slashj tonally.
I play principally GnR and Slash songs but also led zeppeling, ZZ, ACDC and a lot of other from blues to hard-rock but not metal.

My rig is guitar directly in fractal axe fx II

Thanks

Alex

Re: Pickup for my les paul 58

Everybody is going to recommend a different PAF variant, so I’m going to be a spoiled ****** and say get real ones :)

Seriously, do some reading on here and you’ll find a wealth of info. Ultimately though, pick a set and go from there.

Re: Pickup for my les paul 58

Since you say you like the Slash tone and play mostly GNR and Slash songs, the choice seems pretty clear to me. Get the Slash Set. Why would you get anything else?

Re: Pickup for my les paul 58

I'd say the APH-2 or Seth Lovers. It sounds like the guitar is a great one, so either of these 2 sets will do it for you.

Re: Pickup for my les paul 58

Sounds like you want the Slash set since its what you play the most and are specifically asking for. If not, you can go for the Ants. or Seths. By the way, your R8 really is light haha. My R8 comes in at 8.8 lbs (4 kg). Is it a Tobacco burst?

For mass-market pickups, the Slash set would be the obvious choice.
If you have a bit more money to spend, you could get scatterwound humbuckers from Zhangbucker or ReWind that are a bit more responsive IMO.
Or treat yourself to a pair of Pure Handwounds from Zhangbucker and never look back. They have something special going on.
