pickup help

What pickup would be good for an early vh tone using a basswood body. Sorry im sure this has been asked many times just wanted to be sure.

I think I saw a post here where MJ in the Custom Shop has had the 1978 Humbucker [nick named EVH] for $150.00 on Sale last week.
