Hey all,
Im thinking about picking up a PRS Paul Allender SE model since my local Guitar Center has one used for like $440. Always liked his bat inlay setup.
I had quite a few PRS guitars about 5 years ago, have since sold them all. My favorite was my red Custom 22 tremelo that I put a JB in the bridge and left a Dragon II in the neck.
Now that was the real deal PRS Custom 22, the Allender SE isn't a carved top and I'm not sure how dense the wood is compared to the normal PRS Custom 2x line...
Anyone think a JB/59 setup in an SE model would be worth it? I didn't buy the guitar yet, so I can't say for sure what the stock pickups sound like. I'm a big Cradle of Filth and Satyricon fan. Used to get real close to their tone using the Custom 22 w/ JB I had back in the day.
