Pickup Suggestion for Fernandes Retrorocket Pro

Hi there
I am looking for a replacement pickup for a fernandes Retrorocket Pro Guitar. It is a strat-style guitar, with ash body and maple neck (so yeah its bright). The bridge pickup is a humbucker and fernandes claims that the sustainer function works best with high gain pickups. My playing style is mostly a blues/rock thing something between SRV, Gary Moore, Gibbons, Jeff Healey etc...
Do you have any suggestions?

Also...would a Trembucker be better for a strat? its a standard tremolo non floyd rose...Thanks in advance!

For a guitar like that, I'd use a trembucker spaced JB.

Actually with those I'd try either a Custom Custom, or a JBA2, or maybe even a Pearly Gates bridge.

Thank you both for your suggestions! Will the standard JB sound a bit harsh on the treble/upper midrange on ash-bodied guitars?

It can, it depends on how the resonant peaks line up. It might be fine.

JB often works great in bright guitars. A lot of people like them in maple neck-throughs with ebony fretboards. Some of the most consistently liked guitar configurations with JBs are maple fretboard and neck, with the body being alder or soft maple.

"Standard" or SH humbucker spacing refers to old Gibson (most new non-reproduction Gibsons have switched to something close to the Fender spacing at the bridge), TremBucker or Fender spacing both are aimed at Floyd and standard Fender bridge spacing, whether they are vibrato bridges or fixed.

Most of the names you list are better known for lower output pickup use, though in his rock days Moore used some fairly hot pickups.

Custom Custom or JB magnet swapped to A2 should work pretty well in ash. Eddie Van Halen used a CC in his ash-bodied guitar around 1984.
