Hey there,
Just wondering what HB pups you guys would recommend for a Peavey Wolfgang.
I have the stock pups in there now. I like everything about them except that I could really use a bit more high end clarity and definition in the 5kHz+ range.
I play in a classic rock, dance (old school R&B, disco), and blues band, mostly covers, so the tone ranges from very clean to hard rock solos (no metal really, nothing heavier than ACDC, VH, Aerosmith, etc...).
I play through a Gibson SuperGoltone GA30RVH Dual Channel Class A tube amp (30W 4 x EL84) into closed-back 4x12 with V30's and a open-back 4x12 with Greenbacks. Dunlop DB-01 Wha, Ibanez Tube Screamer, Seymour Duncan Pickup Booster for pre-amp FX.
I like to control all my gain-tone-volume settings with the amp and pre-input FX rather than with the guitar controls so I prefer to leave both HB's on at all times, no tone knob and really only use the volume knob for occassional swells.
So basically all I need is one good Dual Humbucker tone to work with, like the Wolfgangs but with more high end clarity.
Thanks guys!
JA
