Yeah, I know there's a pickup wizard, but I don't think it really can categorize my guitar right. Well, my future guitar. I'm going to have it built soon.
It's a custom built guitar, with 3/4" walnut on top and 1" of mahogany on the back. It's gonna have chambers cut in, to cut down on the weight, which might be a doozy, and also add to sustain.
I loved the sound of walnut guitars I had played before - a great bright tone, while having a complex midrange. Leads sounded great. But I didn't want to have the whole thing made of Walnut, so I wanted the back to be Mahogany.
I'm planning to get a Maple neck, so that way the tone is more focused on the body wood...
Now, I play rock, some punk, some classic, little bit of everything. I already on an Epiphone SG with a Jazz/Duncan Custom setup, and I love it.
So, I have humbuckers on my SG, but I want more sonic options - so I wanted to put single coils on this guitar, maybe P90s.
If that were possible, I'd like to have a P90/Single/P90 setup.
Does that really match the guitar? How would those pickups reflect the tone wood?
Throw me anything at me, even setups that aren't what I specified. I want something that'll sound great for this guitar.
Hell, even throw me gripes about the guitar design, if you want.
It's not built yet, so if there's something you think is fundamentally wrong with it, I'll take it into consideration.
