Actually, Metallica didn't start using the Mark IV's until work on 'Metallica' came out. It was still strictly Mark IIC+'s pumping out juice.

kirk. the only thing he had on any albums before load was his solo's, so i wouldnt really call his gear an integral part of the Metallica sound on albums till then (actually.....more often than not the stuff you hear started out as kirks equipment, but james just took it :laugh2: )
