I am fixing up my Squire SuperSonic that was a gift from my family when was 13. I've had it professionally set up with a set of 11-58 tuned to Drop C and it intonates fine. I really like the way the guitar plays now.
When it comes to the stock humbuckers, the seem to be medium output with almost a single coil esque twang to the attack combined with a flubby bottom. The guitar has no tone knob, just dual volumes. I am not sure if this really effects the tone I am currently getting out of these stock pickups.
My style is high gain, kinda progressive with lots of odd chord voicings. Looking for something reasonably tight in the lows clear enough treble for chord defenition. I'd like to stay in the medium to high output range.
I appreciate any suggestions. Thanks.
