pickups for both Megadeth and AC/DC?

Hi,

I need a pair of humbuckers for my Warmoth Flying V (all-mahogany, bolt-on, ebony fingerboard, T-O-M bridge). My favorite axemen are Angus Young and Dave Mustaine...strange combination, I know. :)

Is there a Seymour Duncan humbucker combination that would get me in the ballpark?

Thanks!
Terry

JB, it can do the megadeth stuff and can clean up good enough to do the AC/DC.

I won't make any comments about the '59 and AC/DC ... although I think it's great for that (D'Oh)

Welcome to the Forum Moosehead ... (hmm .... methinks another Canadian has entered)

Welcome to the Forum, Moose

Duncan Custom can also do it well, particularly the Megadeth part and the rhythm lines of AC/DC trax ;)

as the est said it, JB would work prefectly for this situation in the bridge position. as for neck, well mustain doesnt use it and i dont know about Young. hmmm.....but definitely JB bridge.

Dave uses a JB/JB combo.

I didn't like the Angus Sig pup far too bright for me. I would go with a JB bridge and a 59 neck since you'll have to split the difference a bit.

Re: pickups for both Megadeth and AC/DC?

I'd vote for the Custom. The JB does Megadeth very well, but it's a little too bright for AC/DC. The Custom on the other hand does the AC/DC PAF sound very well, just hotter. It also isn't too dark to play Megadeth or other metal.
