Pickups for my two strats.

Re: Pickups for my two strats.

okay.
#1a antiquity surfers with overwound surfer bridge
#1b classic stack pluses with quarter pound bridge or duncan custom single coil bridge. (Get it tapped for notch position.)
#2a texas hots with overwould texas hot bridge
#2b A2 pro set
These should retain classic strat sounds but give you a pallette to work with.

For other overwound ones, Antiquity Texas Hots, SSL-3 Hot, Custom, and DiMarzio has Chopper, Cruiser, Virtual Vintages other than '54. YJM and HS-3 should work well, too, even though they are low output, they are warm, and with an overdrive, will do YJM and Deep Purple.

Re: Pickups for my two strats.

How does a set of Antiquity Surfers with a Custom Texas Hot Bridge sound? I think a few ppl around such as lews likes that combo. I'm pretty keen on a set of Antiquitys for one of the strats. Should i go with the Custom Surfer Bridge or the Custom Texas Hot Bridge.

I'm looking around the SD site, the Custom or the Hots. Which one is suited for being a 'raunchy' strat but not heavy metal style music. Also, what's the difference between flat and staggered pickups? What about a set of Custom or Hots with a Quarter Pound Bridge?

"Beefed up true single-coil"

Sounds good to me.
