pickups for PAX 217 sound...

can anyone give me any ideas to get a sound similar to PAX 217? if you dont know who they are, they sound like the band 311. it's like a mix of punk, reggae, ska, rap, and some other stuff.

the guitar sound is very nice and thick, and the cleans are great as well, think a reggae type clean.

chances are this would go into my les paul, at the moment it has a DD/59 in it. they sound great, but im just looking around still

I'de suggest a 59' in the Bridge (keep the one ya got in the neck too). Or Maybe a Phat cat set, if ya can deal with hum (although they are very quiet).

That would probably get ya close to a Reggae clean tone. And both will sound really nice and thick Distorted (depending on how ya got yer amp set). ALthough ya might wanna just think about splitting the Dd in the bridge so ya can switch to single coil mode fer clean (Sounds really good clean this way) and Full bucker for dist.

if Ya didn't have ta put it into an Lp you'de have more options. But the options fer a Dual Hum guitar are kinda limited. so yeah.....ed

oh, well i got more guitars

my charvel is HSS with a floyd rose, and it's got a JB in the bridge and stock dimarzio choppers in neck and middle. the JB sounds great, actually.... hmmm

im practicing tonight and i'll try it out,

btw, im gonna be getting some vintage rails for neck and middle in that guitar, how would that sound?
