Pickups for Telecaster alder body solid ebony neck

Today I will receive from Warmoth these two parts.
What kind of pickups would be best for a Telecaster Alder body with solid ebony neck?

It probably will be pretty punchy and bright sounding? So maybe pickups who doesn't sound to bright..? Or should that not be a to much of a problem.
I really like the sound of the APTL-3JD Jerry Donahue Model. But maybe it is to bright for this setup?

I'm playing mostly blues/country like style. I gravitate to the sound of josh smith and kirk fletcher.
Ofcourse their sound is mosty coming from their fingers and their guitars are made from diffrent wood then what I will get today.
Anyway...is there any pickup what would come close to their sound in this kind of setup? full, round, open but still punchy and bity.

Any suggestions I would really appreciate it.

Thank you

I'd go for a Jerry Donahue bridge pickup, and maybe a vintage style neck pickup.

Its going to be hard to know the precise tonal balance, but you can always tinker with volume pot K rating and cap value

JD? Why not? It's one of the best tele bridge pickup out there and I'd say it would deliver what you want from a tele bridge pickup. I wouldn't be worried about alder and ebony thingy. What do you want from the neck pickup? If you want meatier sound and your tele has standard pickup route (so no option for P-90, mini or hb here), you can go with QP neck.

I'd go for a Jerry Donahue bridge pickup...

Me too. In fact, I did.

If possible, I'd go for an alnico 5 Strat pickup for the neck pickup. I did that too.

But I would not go for a RW/RP neck pickup.

I'm convinced that Strats and Teles sound more resonant if I avoid using a RW/RP pickup even though I do give up humcancelling when the two pickups are combined.

Pretty much everyone agrees that 50's and 60's Teles sound better than new ones and I'm convinced that not using a RW/RP pickup is one of the reasons.

Thank you guys for your posts.

The neck and vintage white body arrived yesterday in good condition. What a great neck.
So it is going to be an ebony ivory thing...tortoise pickguard would be nice.
I also came across the APTL-1/APTR-1 what, to my ear, sounded a little bit sweeter than JD..a little bit less highend.
What do you thinks guys anyone have any experience with the JD and the APTL-1/APTR-1 difference in this kind of wood high end setting?

I think it is right to say that with JD you can 't go wrong. But I'm not looking for a ice-pick sound. I like a bity sound with body.

Thank you for sharing.

Awesome! First solid ebony neck I've seen.

Ebony has an immediate attack, but it doesn't have the same presence as maple, so I don't think you'd be too different to an alder tele with 1 piece maple neck.

I had a MIM/warmoth parts tele which I fitted with a JD bridge and a twisted tele neck. The latter is a tele neck pickup that is designed to sound and react more like a typical strat neck pickup. To my ears it did what it said. I liked the tones from that combo whilst I owned that guitar.

You can take your time and put a KILLER inlay in that headstock. If you should accidentally overcut the inlay route, ebony dust and super glue make for a near seamless touchup!
