there's a couple guys on here that are familiar with suhr's pickups. I have no clue what they would be, I'm sure that the cornford amp that he's using is adding tons of color, so we wouldn't know from just listening to these samples.
I absolutely love what he does in these clips BTW. Guthrie is a very tasteful and agile player.
not too many people have experience with Dean pickups since they only come on Dean guitars. That is going to be much harder to speak on than actual Suhr pickups.
You wont find a "clone" of a suhr in the SD line up. Your better off sizing up your guitar and figuring out what tones you want out of it then buying which SD's give you what you need.
Dean pickups are terrible. Flat, dull and boring sounding. I had three guitars loaded with dean pickups and I hated them. They Ll came to life with a set of seymours and even dimarzios.
