Pickups soldered to toggle switch?!

I've done the same thing, except it was a cavity with that black conductive paint inside. The pot turned just a little, and hit the sidewall. Dead short to ground. No sound. Also took me awhile to find that. ;)

There is no in-between for you, it's all or nothing (ex...either everyone is an expert at soldering or they know absolutely nothing at all), so there's no room for discussion with you.

With nearly 15,000 posts on this forum I guess I have never helped anyone, but your less than 200 posts have been Godlike.
