Pickups suggestions for a Ibanez AS103

I have an Ibanez which is nicer that the AS103 but I'm not sure as to which model it is. Anyways, it is basically like a Gibson ES-335.

In short, I am looking to upreade the pickups.
I am going after a classic rock / blues sound.

Based on my experience with an Epiphone BB King Lucille, I recommend SD Pearly Gates Rhythm/neck and Brobucker Treble/bridge pickups.

If you want to stick with Ibanez parts, their Super 58 humbucker is a superb PAF clone.

Based on my experience with an Epiphone BB King Lucille, I recommend SD Pearly Gates Rhythm/neck and Brobucker Treble/bridge pickups.

If you want to stick with Ibanez parts, their Super 58 humbucker is a superb PAF clone.

It currently has the Ibanez Super 58 pickups on it. Though, the Pearly gates and brobucker sound fantastic, though expensive.

Before arriving at the PGn/Brobucker combination, I tried out various other options including some high output humbuckers in the bridge/Treble position. Needless to say, these gave more oomph but at the expense of overall versatility. The SH4 JB was unwieldy. The Gibson Tony Iommi signature HB only came alive in dropped tunings.

There are some on this forum who would argue that even a Brobucker is over the top on a semi-hollow electric guitar. Crank up a valve amplifier and the Brobucker is straight into the Ted Nugent "wrestling with feedback" zone. (Not necessarily a bad thing!)

Needless to say, Gibson offered twin Dirty Fingers HBs on the ES 335 Pro. Forum regular, Astrozombie, used to post frequently about his Epiphone ES-333. That featured a single DF humbucker. You could PM him, I suppose. To the best of my recollection, he eventually traded it to get something else. (It is sometimes difficult to tell what gear AZ has actually bought and what gear he is merely evaluating in his mind.)

I have a pair of 59's in mine. I also changed out the pots and caps and split the neck PUP. Rivals any 335 I've ever had my hands on now, and the neck is sooo right for me. Nicest fretwork I've ever seen. I play a lot of Robben Ford-style jazzy-blues and some Rosenwinkel-style stuff. Perfect set up for my needs with these electronics.
