Pics of my Bonamassa Fuzz Face/Crybaby set

I've been cleaning out stuff that I don't use and turning it into cool new collectibles. I couldn't resist the copper plated Dunlop ltd. edition Bonamassa set. Both are made at the highest level Dunlop makes, and both are bound to be big collectibles, especially the Fuzz Face. I got the 21st wah and FF #523 out of 1000. This is a set that would make Jimi jump out of the grave. LOL

I've been using the Fulltone Clyde Deluxe and Jimi Fuzz Face, and will probably leave those on my board, since they sound great and are durable. This new polished copper set will stay in boxes or on this board, only used when I want to play with them or use them for recording. The wah covers a vocal flavor that isn't quite nailed by the Fulltone, so I love using it. The Fuzz Face is a bit smoother and less spitty than the Jimi Fuzz Face, but it was designed to be a bit less aggressive for humbuckers. The Bonamassa is a bit more refined than the Jimi, and I love them both. The copper FF is germanium, while the blue Jimi FF is silicon, so it's nice to have both.

I got the board from a computer desk I found in the trash. It's one of a few platforms I raided from it to use for mini boards.

The Marshall Gov'nor - which is also a nice Marshall flavored OD I like to use as a boost. Honestly, it fits right in with these in both look and sound.

Wow, very cool and the board looks real funky too! I've been keeping an eye out for those but they are very expensive over here! The good news is it's my birthday soon so we'll see what turns up. Oh yeah, I'm going to see J.B this Saturday too!

The Fuzz Face is getting almost impossible to find here anymore. I ordered one and my order got cancelled due to unavailability. I found one from another retailer. Those will be gone in days.

But the wah will probably be made in bigger quantities, and it's well worth the money. It's got a real dramatic sweep, like you associate with those old funky 70's wacka wacka tracks. It's got a halo inductor and is made good like the old wah's, only it's got a mini switch for true bypass/non true bypass for purposely shaving highs like the old wah's did.

Out of all the Crybaby pedals, it's at the top of the heap. The other wah that's worth buying is the new handwired Vox 846 for $200. I've just been selling off dead gear and old stock pickups to buy this stuff, because like most, I don't have tons of money to be buying luxury items like these.

Same here. I have an Epi SG custom, several pick ups and 2 pedal boards to sell before I can get anything else. Those 2 pedals do look awesome and I love that finish. I've seen the demo vids and if I can find them will get them although I won't baby them I'm use them on my board.

I can envision some rapper dude wearing that FF on a chain around his neck whilst spewing endless streams of words and profanity into a gold microphone and appearing to have an epileptic fit inside his oversize clothes/miniature tent masquerading as a track suit.

Gold bling, Yo.

bananapants.

(i'm down with the kids. they love me)

Re: Pics of my Bonamassa Fuzz Face/Crybaby set

I actually had a meeting with Flava Flav for voice over work. If I do it again, I'll wear my copper Fuzz Face as a clock and one up him! Thanks for the idea! LOL

Such a great looking pair. Looks like high end cooking equipment :) !!

Re: Pics of my Bonamassa Fuzz Face/Crybaby set

Very nice set-up.

It really doesn't matter what guitar-amp combination you use. Like adding softly melting ice cream to a warm apple pie, Fuzzy Faces make everything better.

Re: Pics of my Bonamassa Fuzz Face/Crybaby set

thats pretty sweet joe, if they sound half as good as they look you should be happy as hell

Re: Pics of my Bonamassa Fuzz Face/Crybaby set

very sweet! they look awesome together, and the little board looks so cool too!

Re: Pics of my Bonamassa Fuzz Face/Crybaby set

Nice! the fuzz face was popping up often on The Gear Page, but now that im looking for one I haven't seen one.

Re: Pics of my Bonamassa Fuzz Face/Crybaby set

That is a lot of shiny on one small board.

I love the idea of having a theme board.

Re: Pics of my Bonamassa Fuzz Face/Crybaby set

Nice. Might put some rubber feet on the top end, and maybe a rubber strip on the bottom. It irks me a smidgeon seeing it lay flat.

I put some of those clear rubber stick-on feet on the bottom of it, so it can't slide.

Re: Pics of my Bonamassa Fuzz Face/Crybaby set

I really admire Joe B. He seems to be the one heading the charge in the present DIY guitar hero type. Seems like a real hard working, down to earth person, and his hard work is paying off for him.

Even better, his signature stuff isn't just junk with his name on it, it's actually collectable and both the wah and the fuzz are world class it seems.

I watched a video and he was encouraging people to use the pedals and not keep them in a box lol. He wants to see them in 10 years all patinad up haha!

Really cool guy.

Re: Pics of my Bonamassa Fuzz Face/Crybaby set

Sweet. Love the pedalboard. That rounded section is perfect for Fuzz Faces like that. Nice and simple.

Re: Pics of my Bonamassa Fuzz Face/Crybaby set

cool lookin' set, Joe

I'd love to have one with a little patina! :)
