Pics of my gear

That is a very reliable setup. You have done well.

Don't worry about the setup. Worry more about that haircut. j/k :)

Seeing the gear you have: many blues legends in the 50s were using guitars and amps that were REALLY low-end, also for recording. Peavey and Boss seems to be acceptable in comparison. Guess only BB King and Muddy Waters and some few others could afford high-end Gibsons and Fenders.

Holly sh!t!!! I never thought you could find a guitar with a single coil dressed up as a 'bucker. That's insane!

About your Nite, as previously said, I would have been really happy if I started guitar when I was 13. You have plenty of time improve your skills and your rigs.
And actually, apart maybe for the amp, it doesn't look bad at all.

+1 to all the people saying their starter gear was way worse. I started at your age by plugging my dad's old POS right-handed Harmony solid-body electric with 5 strings into my stereo. I played like that for a good 6 months or so before I even bought an amp, which interestingly enough was the older version of what you have. I remember putting the high E string on there for the first time and having no idea what to do with it! Those were fun times.

Like others have said, keep at it, improve your skills, play as much as possible, and get better gear when you're ready. What you have right now is pretty damn good all things considered.

Re: Pics of my (crappy) gear

Man, my first gear at the age of 18 (yeah, that's when I started, wish I had started at 13) was a Jackson PS-2 I bought at a pawn shop and a Stinger (martin company) amp that somebody gave me. I didn't get the amp until I'd been playing for 3 months, so I played unplugged for a while. Then the amp would start making funny noises after about 20 minutes of playing so I'd have to hit the top of it til it shutup :) Ah, the good ole days of not knowing what I"m doing!

My first little amp was so bad that I didn't want to play it and always practiced unplugged... :smack: :laugh2:

The guitar is amazing for what its worth money wise, I'm keeping that forever. And yes, I'll mod the hell out of it.

Re: Pics of my (crappy) gear

What you have is not bad for a beginner. I would suggest you set up your Raptor for good playability and test out different sounds with your Rage 158. Remember, turning everything all the way up may not give you the best sound. As a musician, I play my instruments, not fooling around with them all the time. I make changes to them only if it is necessary. People listen to what and how you play, not how your ax sounds.
