You know your tone is good... you don't need our opinions. Nice and meaty Metal tone that invokes a hard-on! Makes me wanna go back to usin' a DD, but IMO you get that familar metal tone we ALL know and love...

What does 3TM modded mean? I have a stock mp-1 and it isn't that meaty!

the 3TM is the 3 Tube Mod from www.adadepot.com

http://www.adadepot.com/adagear/detailled/ADA-MP-1/mods/3TM.htm

Its a whole brand new replacement tube board for the ADA MP-1. It adds a 3rd tube and 2 extra tone controls. If you go to the long link above.. you'll see pictures and hear more clips.

IMO.. it makes the MP-1 ALOT better than stock. Thick tight more aggressive tone and makes the distortion more useful even if you crank it up to 8.5 or 9.0 on both OD1 and OD2. but with the 3TM, you'll never need to crank them that high. Maybe if you have low output pickups.

Hope that helps!

Cheers

That sounds cool, it reminds me of Racer X and George Lynch.

What speakers do you have in the VHT cab, Duke?

Thanks Bro. Did you try those JJ KT77s in you VHT yet?

The speakers are the ones custom made for VHT by Eminence. The P50E speakers. 50watts each but they're loud and can take any amout of distortion you throw at them and still sound tight and clear.

Cheers

How does it compare to V30?

I am still using JJ KT77 on one channel and EL34L on the other channel. Distortion sounds very heavy in KT77, but the clean sound is a bit too "narrow/tight." EL34L, on the other hand, has sparkling clean and brighter distortion. So, I figured, I might as well combine the two. My band just recorded a demo actually, and we are going to upload the songs to myspace. I use those tubes for the recording--mic-ed in stereo--but I forgot which side is KT77. Anyway, I'll let you know when the songs are uploaded and tell me how my guitar sounds. Tweaking is never ending, isn't it? :laugh2:

Oh, interestingly, KT77 has lower volume (not drastic) in comparison to EL34L, so I adjust the volume a bit louder for the channel with KT77.

You were DAMN NEAR brown sound on the 1st clip.

I owned a Mesa Traditional 412 cab with V30s. To my ears, the VHT P50E speakers can handle high gain at high and very high volumes very very well. The P50E speakers are very very clear and sorta balanced sounding. The Lowend is very very tight and chunky, while the mids are more relaxed and highs are clear and a much smoother than the V30s.

in Highgain, the P50E speakers handle distortion ALOT better than V30s.

If you get a chance, try a VHT 412 fatbottom cab.

Cheers
