Hi guys, so I was at the guitar store today, and I figured what the hell I wanna try a USA Jackson and see what all the fuss is about. I got a salesperson to get me the RR1 Rhoads (Jumbo frets, JB/Jazz pickups, alder body/ebony fretboard), and we plugged it into a Roland Cube 60 on the R-Fier setting.... well..... I started playing the guitar and WOW!!!!
Pulling off solos and runs I've dreamed about was never so easy! The action was so perfect, I barely had to touch the strings and I was blazing around on the fretboard with the most ease I've ever felt playing a guitar. On a side note, the Cube 60's R-Fier setting was some of the sweetest gain I've ever heard! Does a real Recto sound a lot better or what?
So my real question is, is there any way I can get this superb playability on my Ibanez, even though the Jackson has Jumbo frets and the Ibanez has Medium? I've tried adjusting my action but maybe it can go lower? How do I know when I've put it too far down, or when I've got it as low as it can go without buzzing or causing other problems?
