Re: Played a Jackson... NEED HELP!

I guess I am the only one who's going to defend for Ibanez. I actually like ibanez more than my jackson. I have two guitars, which are Ibanez rg 3120 and Jackson SL2h, so I can play them side by side and compare them. I tend to like the tone from my ibanez more, especially the bridge position. I guess the combination of mahogany and tone zone do the trick for me. I was going to put a duncan distortion for my soloist, but I was just too lazy to do that. They both have great playability. Soloist has a thicker neck than the ib does, but both play great. This should be just preference. It might sound wired, but I would say ibanez PLAYS better(for me), but jackson FEELS better(because of the neck through construction).

I don't care much about the lower end guitar these two manufactures produce; they both have great hi end instrument anyway. I do agree that everyone should try a Jackson USA in his life. These are the best rock/metal/shredder guitars ever produced. If you have the chance, try some Ibanez prestige model as well, especially the J-custom series(although it's hard to find one in the US). Those J-custom are AMAZING!!! I can't say much about that because I only played one for about one hour and didn't actually own one, but they are certainly some of the finest instrument in the world. The best solution is to buy a jackson usa AND an ibanez j-custom :laugh2: YOU WON'T REGRET!!! You get the most out of your money from usa jackson and those hi end ibanez(except JEM series, they are WAY too expensive). I just don't appreciate companies like ESP and Gibson, their guitars are overpriced. Just my 0.02.

By the way, I am a new guy here. This is defenitely one of the best guitar related forums. Hope I won't get flamed because I actually like ibanez+dimarzio more than jackson+duncan :smack:
