Again I'm only familiar with the VTH 60 and 120 series? Each bank holds 4 presets and I think there's something like 8 total banks x 4 presets per bank w/o looking at my manual? The amount of banks and presets is total overkill,as I find I maybe use about 4 to 6 presets max and in fact I pretty much use only 1 preset.:laugh2:

You can also place the amp into "manual" mode and use it just like any other amp...If you wanted just an AC30 all night, you just stay in manual mode and use the controls for the AC30 model....

John covered the blue series. He's spot on there. With the silver series, you have 2 user defined presets plus manual mode for a total of 3. It's a very stripped down version, but effective.

The DI sound on these things is better than most other amps running DI but still, you can tell it's DI. I prefer speaker out to a Behringer Ultra-G with the speaker sim on or just mic'ing the amp up. I've got clips of both in the Tips and Clips section.

Yeah, I'm with both Erik and LooseC. You can tell it's direct. I think in a whole mix and with some more tweaking of the model it would still sound pleasing, but I've had great results miking my amp. However in my case, I've got the blue version and I run a 2X12 loaded with a Vintage 30 and G12H30. I mike the speaker that I feel fits the music better. Like Erik said, if you're going to record direct with this amp, a speaker simulator would be a great way to go.

Yeah, I know it sounds fake, but I think with some tweaking and mixing plus with a band mix, you could use the tone. Plus I put it together in like two minutes so it wasn't my best sound or playing.

I wish I could mic the thing up, but the neighbors might get a little annoyed hearing Unchained 20 times in a row:banana: Hopefully I can get something from the speaker at my buddy's place soon.

I'll have to check out the Behringer Ultra-G and see what it's about.
