Some of the guitars squier are putting out are just as good as some of the stuff fender is making. Some are good stock, most can be awesome if you put time and money into some minor upgrades.
For example, my $250 p-bass sounds and feels much better than a friends $500 jazz bass, with a badass II bridge.
