Please help me decide on which Fishman Fluence set to get next!

I don't know if the Fluences can be hooked up that way, but it would be cool to have coil splitting options on a switch for guitars without enough pots to allow for all the options. If I put those Heafys in my Schecter C7, I'm going to try to hook up the alnico pickup in the neck so the push-pull switches between "Voice 1" and the single-coil voice. But it would be great to have all the choices available.
They can, and are on various Jackson models. Granted, the megaswitch schematic is a bit tricky.

Also important to note that the single coil option on most Fishmans is a separate voicing. Not just a coil split version of Voice 1/2. So they sound better than pretty much any other passive humbucker split. Maybe not "better", but definitely more authentic single coil.

OK, so I just tried the Modern Alnico in the bridge position... man, what a killer-sounding pickup!
Overall, I find it's more like a Fishman version of the EMG 57 moreso than the 85. It's got more chunky low-end than the Modern Ceramic, and actually, more detail up top as well. So it's not as mid-focused. It's not as tight, but it's not nearly as bloated and stuffy as the EMG 85. Still not sure which I like more.
I like the broader character of the Alnico, but I like the focus and agression of the Ceramic.

Being an Alnico fan myself it is stinks that many of the Fluence Alnico pickups voice 2 is that scooped/neck/sh-2 voicing which is not much use in the bridge IMO. Wish there was a jumper or something that 'activated' neck mode so you dont miss out on the hot rod tone that is usually Voice 2.
FWIW, I used a KSE Alnico in the bridge of a Floyd Kramer and it was the cats meow. I think the 57/85 comparison is fair. There is something about that bloated 85 that works for me in the bridge outside of the tech metal. Kind of has a sweet bloom with the right amount of dirt.

Do you still find Voice 2 on the KSE in the bridge too SH-2-y? Voice 2 of the KSE Alnico isn't as low output or scooped compared to the Modern Alnico's Voice 2.
I'd actually be interested in trying my KSE Alnico in the bridge now.
Its been years si my recollection is meh. I do remember it being much more useful than a regular modern.

I actually find it interesting that they describe the KSE as having *less* low end than the moderns. I've read both them being "tighter" and having "less low-end". Tighter maybe. Less low-end, no way. I've switched both sets back and forth in both my Les Pauls to see how they react to different guitars, and the KSE's actually have a tiny bit more. They may appear tighter (even thinner) because they've got less low mids and more upper mids, but the lowermost low-end is actually a tiny bit more.
At one time I had made an excel spreadsheets (saved somewhere?) with all the specs of the different pickups and listen to that youtube channel with all the comparisons...not sure that helped at all LOL

I need to recreate the spread sheet, it was nothing special - just showed the frequencies, magnet type and what I thought it sounded like compared to other pickups.

I listen to the samples on his channel quite frequently. I'm not really a fan of his distorted tones, but you can still tell the differences in the pickups. Great stuff!!
