PLEASE HELP! SH-6 set too bright and hardly any bass!

Re: PLEASE HELP! SH-6 set too bright and hardly any bass!

Maybe you hit a bad solder connection when changing the cap and now it's fixed.

I'm thinking something like that too. Changing the cap to a different value shouldn't have made a big diff. My guess is the same a Benjy's: in installing a new cap, a previous un-noticed wiring problem was corrected...a problem that had nothing to do with the value of the cap.

well, the cap didnt boost the bass per se, but rather made it more apparent because some treble was cut out right? hm, it really seemed to work out nicely. so theoretically, with .047's, a little more high will be rolled off for even more apparent bass and low mids.

very well, mates, i'll try to take the cap out and see what the pups sound like without them haha. but should i compensate for no cap with a lower pot value for my volume pot?

as for the possible changing of cap resulting in fixed wiring problem, hm, i dont think that would be it haha. also, about a capacitor placebo effect, well, i dont think that would be the case either. i do sound engineering and producing as a sideline so i dont think im that likely to fall prey. MAYBE. hehe

but its working out well so hey, thanks! i'll be experimenting with no cap and a higher cap value! i'll keep you guys posted!
