Hi

so here is my pickups:

bridge : SD SSL-5

middle : Fender Texas special

Neck : SD antiquity Texas Hot

as you all know the Texas Hot is reverse polarity so the question is can i wire this up to be normal strat like with the hum cancellation in the between positions?
any help would be great.

thanks

Re: please help with wiring Texas Hot

take the top of the ssl5 and put the top of the texas special over it. do they attract or repel? do the same with the texas hot and the texas special. let us know what you find

Re: please help with wiring Texas Hot

ok will do but it will be awhile.

if its any help i have hum-cancellation in bridge/middle but none in middle/neck.
i cant remember for sure but i think i had to reverse the wires on the Texas Hot.
im going to tear it down soon to put a Gilmour style mini toggle switch in it.
so i figured i would rewire it then all nice and tidy :)

thanks

Re: please help with wiring Texas Hot

Ok so the SSL-5 attracts to both tex special and tex hot and the tex hot repels from the tex special.
hope that helps.

thanks

Re: please help with wiring Texas Hot

well that means the ssl5 is south and the texas hot and texas are north

the ssl5 in the bridge and either of the two others in the middle will cancel hum in the notch position and be in phase (assuming wired properly). the texas hot and texas special will never be in phase and cancel hum. they can be wired in phase and will sound fine, but wont cancel hum

Re: please help with wiring Texas Hot

yup. or you can put the texas hot in the middle and replace the texas special.
