I'm sure this has been covered ad-nauseam but can anyone describe from first hand experience how an Alnico 5 magnet in a Pearly Gates makes this pickup sound? I'm not talking about the PG+ as I know that's really not a PG at all; rather, it's essentially an overwound 59er. TIA

Although the output of the PG+ is higher it is almost completely due to the A5 magnet, the PG+ still has the mismatched coils not the symetrical coils or the 59. Unfortunately the PG+ is the best example of how your pup would sound. Lew highly recommends the 59 TB and Gearjoneser the C5 for the hotter A5 sound. A happy medium would be the Screaming demon.

You should really do a search on the forum...a PG + is really nothing like a 59, but more like a PG with an alnico 5 magnet.
