Please rate my rig, 2008 edition. PICS!

Re: Please rate my rig, 2008 edition. PICS!

I feel that asking for approval of your rig from other people is more subjective than tone. If it works for you and pleases you, then there is the most important vote.

Agreed. But I still value a different perspective.

For example : the godins are never leaving. They sound amazing, play amazing, and have a sentimental value to me by this point. On the other hand, I always welcome suggestions towards pickups, effects that work well for those instrument and pickups, and other factors that could help me out.

Thanks for all your comments dudes. So for the next year, the lp and strat need new pups asap, I will score a 10 band eq pedal, and I will try to obtain a very good quality overdrive or distortion.

I knew the strat would get flamed lol.:lmao:

I'm not going to sell it, but the lp will get a set of new pickups.
I actually really like MIM strats. My best guitar is an MIM I modded the hell out of; although to be fairm the only thing original left of the guitar is the body.

Firstly awesome rig! If i had those axes i think i would be pretty content. A lot of ground can be covered with them. I would only consider adding another axe if there was a need for something with a floyd or if i wanted something with a crazy shape like a V or Explorer. Seriously though i would struggle to come up with sensible suggestions to improve beyond making sure all the axes are set up good and have decent electronics (assuming you don't want to sell any of them).

Amp-wise i personally like something marshally but thats me. Effects i find you either want them or you don't, only you can decide. I myself prefer having less (though have been considering adding a phase and a vibe type effect every now and then).

Anyways again nice rig. I would say it is at a standard where there isn't much lacking beyond what your personal needs and tastes want.

The main thing I'd do with all that stuff is to consolidate all the guitars into two GREAT ones, but that's just me.
One thing to do right away is to look up "tube dampers" on ebay

http://cgi.ebay.com/AMP-TUBE-DAMPER...ageNameZWD4VQQcmdZViewItem?_trksid=p1638.m124

and order a set to fit the 12AX7 tubes and a set for the 6L6 tubes in that amp...you'll be able to hear a MUCH clearer sound after you have two on each tube. They really do make the difference, especially with the Sovteks that are probably in that amp.
