I recently got a PRS baritone. It's great, but, as expected, pumps out A LOT of bass. I put a DiMarzio Dominion in the bridge position because it's the tightest-sounding pickup I had lying around. It sounds good overall, but it's still bassier than what I'd want.
The Nazgul sounds like the leanest, tightest, most aggressive, least bassy pickup in the Duncan lineup in the clips I've heard. It also seems to have some Distortion and Black Winter-like characteristics, and I really like both of those pickups. I, however, am worried that it would be too low output compared to my Distortion and Black Winter equipped guitars. I like to be able to plug my guitars in without having to adjust the gain settings (I don't mind EQ difference, but I do like to have similar levels of saturation going on).
So what do you guys think? Will the Nazgul be able to keep up with the Distortion and Black Winter? Is it fast/tight/lean enough to counter my baritone's natural boominess? Or should I skip it altogether and go EMG for maximum control of the low-end?
Thanks.
