Not doing a convincing Plexistyle those Engl's and Rivera's, much to modern....Plexi well that means lots of power and headroom.
Hiwatt DR504 is a top but they did made a 100 watts combo once, I think they reissued some of them again, also in lower watts.
Or a good JTM45, one that is setup to play clean, some of those old Jubilee combo's also had that chimey fat clean sound.

"Headroom" is a qualitative assessment concerning how little or how much one must crank the volume on an amp before the power section begins to break up.

The UK70's model on the Vox Valvetronix's will do it..in fact they sound much better clean than they do with the gain up...it's really a horrible model, IMO at least for the OD/Distortion sounds.
The 15/30/50 series won't set ya back too much either. I'm not sure I'd buy the amp just for that though. The UK modern, Fender, Boutique clean,
and Vox models are pretty good too, but the rest are ...ehhhh....
EDIT: Ahh..you want a 2x12......hmmm...the VT 2x12 combo is a grand plus. Buy a 50 watter VT (1x12 closed back) and an extension cabinet from whomever else.
And actually I'm a little hesitant to recommend the VT's right now. Mine gave me some effects switching trouble for a bit, and finally just totally crapped out on me. Guy at work bought a 30 watter after hearing my 50 watt and his died within 3 days. Might be a reliability prob with the less expensive models.

to get a PLexi tone in a combo you will have to go with an older amp...most people have left the plexi tone behind in favor of the more modern tones...Old Marshall combos, HiWatt's even an Orange combo would be closer to anything that has been mentioned so far. What kind of money can you spend on this amp...I'd love to help, let me know. If you can swing it a Bluesbreaker Combo would e a great start...it not exactly like a PLexi but still closer that everything that has been brought up so far...you can usally get into those pretty cheep.

yes, i did see the bluesbreaker combo, and i thought that would be pretty cool
i will be able to spend anywhere from $700-$1400 i suppose......but id rather keep it to the mid or lower end of that spectrum if possible, because i want another guitar as well heh
so basically between $700-$1000 i would prefer, but i could go higher than that.....and im definately into something used, so nothing new

The Fargen's are plexi styled amps with 60s, 70's, and 80's voicings, and you may be able to get a good deal on one. Also, the Tophat Emplexadors are great, but pricey.
Personally, I think you should just get a used Marshall 50W plexi reissue for around $650 and use it with whatever cab you have.

The reissue 50 watt amp is a 1987X and shares the look of a Plexi, the circut is much closer to a "metal front" JMP amp...that is not to say that it is not a great amp but it is more agressive that a real Plexi

The earliest JMP's where just like the last plexi's, just had a metalfront instead.
And the reissues plays sweet, and does not break up before it is played multo loud
That would depend on what plexi that is, they too changed somewhat over the few years they where made.

Thats true...the first few years of the JMP amps they were plexi circuts with a metal face, by 72 that began to change and the amps became much more agressive...the 1987X is closest to a 74 or so JMP head...but you are right they do sound quite nice...also Benjy_26 is right "Plexi'ish" that could be a 59 bassman or the Bassbreaker which is a 59 bassman with 2x12's...also I suggested to flank that he look in to a Sovtek Mig 100.,..these amps are very plexi'ish and for the money are damn hard to beat!!!
