Plexitone...

Re: Plexitone...

I have GOT to try one of those.

Rid, I've got a Peavey CLassic 30 and I'm using a Vintage 30 in a closed back cabinet that I use as the main. Really helped to add a lot of depth to the tone. I'm having pretty good luck with a few other pedals (Tonebones, Bad Monkey) but I'd still like to give your Plexitone a shot. How do you think it would work thru the mentioned setup?

Re: Plexitone...

Rid you HAVE GOT to let us know when that pedal you're working is going to be released. IT SOUNDS GREAT! I need one right beside my P/T.

Re: Plexitone...

Ah Mike...I think it work like a charm with a V-30 in a closed back cab!
It will sound very Marshally with the V-30 for sure!
9finger I am working on the boss about this one:D
Eventually he will give in and let us proceed with that pedal, I will keep it updated:)
Thanks Hoss and Peter:)

Everyone raves about the OCD? Thought it sounded grainey and too hi fi for my ears! If it sucks,it gets sold very quickly and then I Move on to better...I trust my ears and my instincts alot.

Re: Plexitone...

Lol ok...seems that we had the same impression of that one, both the old and new, sounded like that to me as well!
I think that JeffB will be happy to hear that I made one more 70's like pedal...and this one gets that old 80's German metal sound:D
hehe not that I like it much, but it is fun;)

Re: Plexitone...

Has anybody had experience with this pedal?

I am still hunting for a two channel overdrive/disto pedal, since the SFX-03 hasn't touch Europe yet.

I tried the Bulldog lately and was relly disappointed, the overdrive was nice as in the Big Ben overdrive, but the disto was thin sounding... It wan't actually bad, but there was defenitely something not right.

BTW, that is funny how I am influenced by tone. I didn't know what to play while trying the pedal (which is not so astonishing as I almost always feel this way in a shop). But then for comparison sake I tried the disto from the amp and the got started to play around the neck freely!

Anyway... your take on the plexitone please.

Funny, I thought the opposite of the Bulldog (which I own). I think the overdrive is a little thin and the distortion rips. The distortion still sounds good though.

However, the Plexitone is the golden box as far as I'm concerned, lol. The thing has a glow around it if you look close enough. Rid has saved me a boatload of cash trying to nail down the tones from amps I used to own and had to sell. I've got a 59 Bassman clone tweed combo that it sounds so fat and heavenly through, and an old Univox bass head that sounds like a real Plexi with the Plexitone. I love it.

I used the Plexitone through the Bassman on this recording using my 1975 Black Beauty Les Paul with Antiquities. People though I was using an old Marshall, hee hee. What a shock when I told them it was a pedal through a Bassman. The distortion guitars come in around 1:34.
