Pod 2.0 Vs V-amp 2

Re: Pod 2.0 Vs V-amp 2

I by far prefer the vamp actually. I almost let the sales guy talk me into the pod 2.0 but trying the two of them there was no comparison. The podxt kicks the crap out of the vamp though...

Re: Pod 2.0 Vs V-amp 2

As you can see, I ended up with a VAmp. They really seemed fairly equal for what I would use them for, but the VAmp was so much cheaper.

Re: Pod 2.0 Vs V-amp 2

I actually can't stand modelers but if i had to use one...I'd probably go with these:

1.) Vox Valvetronics ToneLab - closest thing to a tube amp you can get out of a modeler with an actual 12ax7 built within

2.) Boss GS-10 - Nice effects and typical Boss easy-to-use learning curve and the built in stereo speaker/monitors are great for just jammin or tweakin'

3.) Line 6 POD 2.0 - There are 2 models I liked: Brit Hi Gain and Modern High Gain, everything else well....the XT is just too much.

Re: Pod 2.0 Vs V-amp 2

I got the POD 2 for about the same price as I could've got the V-Amp 2

I was kinda keen on the V-Amp Pro, for the price I could've gotten, but they didn't have any left. In the end I got the POD 2 so cheap it wasn't an issue.

I really didn't like the build quality of the V-Amp 2 tho...felt too fragile for me. But I guess if you look after it it should be fine.

Re: Pod 2.0 Vs V-amp 2

There's a digitech modeller I heard used on a record the other day that sounded absolutely amazing. It wasn't a cheap modeller but man... I'll have to post it.

edit: It was eidolon, coma nation. And it was done with a digitech genesis 3

I find the Vamp a bit easier to use. The pod 2.0 is a bit better sound wise, but not worth the extra cash IMO. A v-amp 2 through the clean channel of a ss fender sounds niiice :)

Re: Pod 2.0 Vs V-amp 2

I think the V-amp 2 wins for my purposes it looks like. The POD 2.0 is not worth the extra bit, and the XT is just crazy. I'll be saving for an all tube Laney before i buy a POD XT.

Re: Pod 2.0 Vs V-amp 2

But be prepared for the bad quality on the v-amp, i have one myself, and buttons have partly stopped working and so on.
The bass player in my band has a bass v-amp, and is having problems to, with the amp selector switch.

Get the pod 2.0, if not for sound, for the build quality.
Just my opinion, but consider it.

Re: Pod 2.0 Vs V-amp 2

Well if i get one, it will sit on my desk. I'm not going to be using it for live play or rehearsal. Only for practice and recording. I had a digitech thing that pretty much fell apart though, just from home use. LOL. First and last DigiTech purchase. Sounded like crap to. Pedals stopped working, half the buttons and knobs went one by one.

Yeah, i used my for rehersal, like 3 times a week ( not now anymore, have gotten a real amp, just used it with my POS Kustom kga-65) but the problems started after just a few months, but maybe it´s ok for home use only, just wanted to warn you.
