Pod Go

Talk to me about the Pod Go, have a line on one basically new, guy boight it and returned it 3 days later, so Id gdt it as a used price.

For now, Id use it via 4 cable method, my laptop is about as basic as can be. Eventually that will change but for now, it will be thru my Jube. If I get it this will be my first venture into modeling

Give me the good, bad and indifferent.

Think it depends on the price you're getting and if the Pod Go has the specific features you want. Even the kidney bean POD is still respected and used in recordings, so I can only imagine the Pod Go also kicks @$$.

There's all kinds of reviews and comparisons out there, each piece seems to have it's own pros and cons. If you can get the Pod Go for a song and just want to see what it's about, probably a good move. But there may be better units for your needs if you have a little extra cash and a little extra time to figure that out.

Really looking for amp models more than effects, but could see myself probably using the effects as well. The shop has it listed at 375, but may be able to get it for a little less.

I've never tried one myself, but I have a few friends who get some great sounds with them. From what I understand, it isn't quite Helix quality, but close.

Same sounds as the Helix but less editing capability.

Again, depends on what you're expecting and how much you're willing to dive in to tweak the sounds. Some sounds will probably be great out of the box, others will need some editing.

I just did the "what modeler should I get?" dance and ended up going with a Fractal. More expensive, but I love modelers already and wanted the best that I could get right now. The Helix was second choice - you get more routing options, a friendlier interface, and a bigger user community, but at the expensive of some amp model realness. But it's relative - the Helix is probably more realistic than the 2010-generation modelers I'd been using.

If you want, research it more. Or just grab it and see what you think. The "Community" doesn't think Line 6 offers the best overall modeling device, but the consensus is still that there are tons of great sounds available on them.
