Re: Poker Chips? Stand up and be counted!

Always switch rings and always pick guards, in my opinion only. To me, that's a proper Les Paul. However, everyone should outfit their guitar any way they wish.

Re: Poker Chips? Stand up and be counted!

I left the poker chips on my LP & SG. I didn't install them on my Explorer or 335.

Re: Poker Chips? Stand up and be counted!

My Les Paul's all have them

My Dean Cadillacs do not

Re: Poker Chips? Stand up and be counted!

Only Gibson's are supposed to have switch rings. IMO of course.

Re: Poker Chips? Stand up and be counted!

It would be awesome if that guitar had a Pearly Gates in the neck and a Black Winter in the bridge.

Re: Poker Chips? Stand up and be counted!

On Gibby's and Epi's only IMO.

Not on any modernized versions from other companies.

Re: Poker Chips? Stand up and be counted!

I have one on my Epi Bonanassa that has "On" for the bridge, and "Off" for the neck.

Re: Poker Chips? Stand up and be counted!

Depends on the guitar. Left it on my goldtop. Took it off my Dean Z.

meh sometimes, if I like the look on that particular guitar

Re: Poker Chips? Stand up and be counted!

My custom guitars dont have em
My Florentine still has one, I just haven't got around to removing it

Re: Poker Chips? Stand up and be counted!

I think they look fine on an SG, but they really set off an LP. I think they balance pickup rings or a pickguard. I’ve been looking at LPs long enough that the ring just looks normal.

Yeah, but you're a pain in the arse rebel that often runs contrary to the expected norm. It makes you, well, you.

Love ya buddy!!!

Re: Poker Chips? Stand up and be counted!

This is as close as I get.

Re: Poker Chips? Stand up and be counted!

I've left them on my Les Pauls that came with them. The Supremes came without them...it would be a shame to cover up any of the flame on those tops.

Re: Poker Chips? Stand up and be counted!

I took it off my Epiphone LP, but I’m not gonna take it off the ‘62 LP/SG.

Re: Poker Chips? Stand up and be counted!

Don't hate them, but I think most look better without them. Left the one on my SG, my 335 never had one, and generally prefer Les Pauls without them. And cannot figure out for the life of me why it matters to me that other people know my thoughts on this topic.
Pickguards also gotta go. I take them off, then reinstall before reselling.
