I was toying with the idea of putting covers on my 59s and found you either get 1 15/16" or 2" pole spacing (E to E). On the spec sheet it says they are 2" but I measure 1 15/16". Am I screwing up here or what's up???

I was wondering the same thing on a set of Alnico II Pro. I here there is no difference on the spacing between neck and bridge. Sounds like maybe the "vintage" models might be the same E-to-E spacing for both neck and bridge. Anyone know for sure for the vintage models?
So unless it's a trembucker, all the poles are the same spacing ... no matter if they are vintage or not? For some reason, I thought the neck / bridge models were like the gibson 490R (narrow) / 498T (wide) spacing.
Standard spaced. In Duncan's nomenclature, standard spaced 'buckers are labeled SH, for 59's, it would be SH-1. Trembuckers are TB, or for 59's, they're TB-1's.
I am reviving a dead thread because I have a question on covers for a set of 59's. I have just acquired a set of uncovered 59's, SH-1N and SH-1B, to use in an Ibanez AS93, a 335 clone. It currently has gold covered humbuckers and I want to retain the covers. I replaced them once due to scratches and I know the current pole spacing used in them is 1 31/32" in the neck and 2 1/32" in the bridge. Can I reuse these covers or will I have to purchase new ones from Seymour Duncan? I am thinking that these will work but have not been able to get a good answer by looking at specs on the Internet so hopefully someone here can help me out. Thanks.
Is there a reason you cannot re-use them? Damaged? Wrong color? Something else?
Those types of things aside, if they came off of those pickups, they should be able to go right back on.
If you do want to replace them for whatever reason, just be sure to get the real Duncan covers so you'll not have any doubt about the fit. They are also relatively transparent sounding. There are only 2 sizes. Standard spacing and trem spacing. Pretty simple.

Sorry, I guess I did not make myself clear. The AS93 has the stock HB's on it now. I bought it used and the covers were badly tarnished and scratched so I purchased a new set of gold covers and switched them out. The spacing on these is 1 31/32" and 2 1/32". I have purchased a set of 59's from someone on the GearPage forum and they are being shipped to me now. They are uncovered black. I want to put gold covers on them. My question is can I remove the covers I have now and reuse them on the SD 59's? They are perfectly good covers and I am pretty sure the neck cover would fit but was not as sure about the bridge cover. What exactly is the spread between e and E pole pieces on the standard humbucker 59"s? And will my existing gold covers fit on them ok? Thanks
