Poll: Les Paul Pickguard or No Pickguard PICS!

I put the covers back on the Antiquities and got them back into the R8. Then I took the guard off to peak underneath to see the flame and now I'm wondering if I should leave it off.

You know me.....I don't care for pickguards on Les Pauls. I like the way it looks without it.

you're not afraid of her getting pregnant? Might get in the way of your picking hand... Besides, it would suck to get the clap from your guitar...

Usually, I like my Pauls without the pickguard, and I'm even trying to get myself to vote for no pickguard...

Nope...can't justify it. Pegasus needs a guard. It just looks right on that specific LP for some reason.

If that's my Lester, i wouldn't take the Pickguard off. It just kills the "Classic Look" of the instrument. What are you gonna do with those holes? It just ruins it. Plus you don't want to scratch that awesome finish. Some players took the Pickguards off of their LP's simply because it gets in the way of their playing style ( they mess with the Volume and tone controls a lot while playing like Gary Moore and Peter Green ) and not because it looks cool. Or some people take the toggle switch plate off just because it looks "Cool" even if it doesn't really get in the way. I guess i'm just too traditional. If a certain thing gives a guitar it's own character, then i usually leave it alone.

I usually prefer them off and it IS a beauty, but it just looks so right with it on - tricky huh? (And the holes look bad - wait till you need to refinish it - this year, next year, sometime.....never).

The pickguard deffinatly has to go... no-ones gunna notice those holes unless they're up real close anyway

On, its a classic les paul model and they just look right that way.
