Re: Poll: Your Favorite Neck Humbucker!
I've used a 59 in the neck of one of my Les Pauls and it sounded incredible. The same can be said for a Pearly Gates I used in the neck of my 335. In both cases, this was provided that their mate was the same or a similar (bridge) model. I still use a Screamin' Demon in the neck of my CS Non-Rev. Firebird which has a Custom in the bridge.
IMO, alot has to do with the neck pickup's compatibility with the bridge pickup. I always found that unless the neck and bridge pickups were thoroughly compatible, I'd wind up setting my amp to one pickup for it's optimum sound where the other pickup's sound would be greatly sacrificed. In the same vein, to make two (incompatible) pickups sound decent, I'd be sacrificing optimum sound from both.
