Ive got an old Sunn solid state bas amp . Is there a way to convert a solid state bass amps circuit so it sounds good with guitar?

Bass amps can always sound great with guitars without any mods, but they are designed for staying clean so there won't be much distortion going on

I would just add an EQ pedal. I frequently run my guitar into my bass amp, and I either jack up the built-in EQ knobs, or I use one of my EQ pedals to stretch the tone. You could consider changing the speaker to a guitar speaker as long as you maek sure to match the specs, and avoid running a bass through it later.

Or, you can find a nice tube preamp for color...not pedal, but a mic pre...and run it into the amp for power.

I LIKE bass circuits for guitar. They don't get you traditional tones, but there's some cool noises to be had, especially since most bass amps and cabs have a wider frequency range than do traditional guitar amps.

One of the heaviest, most brutal tones I've ever gotten came from running my Carvin DC127-T into a Tubescreamer and through the tube preamp of a Hartke 200watt head into a Peavey 4x10 bass cab. The shelving EQ, along with the parametric and graphic gave me the ability to get taut, chest thumping lows, grinding mids, and screaming highs with relatively low gain and a ton of headroom.

Also, a bass amp makes a great platform for modeling processors due to the extended frequency range of the bass amp.

The Stoner/Doom crowd loves old bass tube heads.
